In the afternoon on the 22nd of December Our Lady of Częstochowa arrived in Aviles. In front of the church of St Thomas of Canterbury She was greeted by Father Jose Antonio Montoto, a member of the pro life movement. The atmosphere of the visit was warm and marked with pre-Christmas emotions. As it is always done, The Rosary for the defence of life and family was said and the Holy Eurcharist was celebrated.
The local Brotherhood members attended the celebrations. The Mother of God stayed in Aviles through the night, and in the morning, after the Holy Rosary, She left for Oviedo, where in the cathedral, in the so called, Holy Chamber the Sudarion, the cloth which covered the head of Jesus Christ on the cross is held.
