September 11th is a somber day in America. On September 11, 2001, al-Qaeda terrorists launched four coordinated attacks upon New York City and Washington, D.C killing almost 3000 people. This included 59 people aboard the American Flight 77, which was deliberately crashed into the Pentagon, killing another 125 people on the ground.
As custodian of the icon of Our Lady of Czestochowa for HLI’s From Ocean to Ocean Campaign in Defense of Life, I get to meet some pretty amazing people. One person who has already made an impact on me, and on this growing campaign is Theresa Bonapartis.

St. John the Baptist Church is less than a mile away from the beginning of the Skyline Drive which runs for 105 miles (169 km) down the entire length of Shenandoah National Park in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. General Stonewall Jackson won a battle for the Confederacy here.

September 2, Labor Day, in the United States, is a national holiday that marks the end of summer. It often means that the start of school year is just around the corner. It's a last time to have some fun before work begins in earnest. It's not usually a time that people think of going to church to pray.

Our Lady was welcomed to St. Michael's Church in Annandale, Virginia with a beautiful ceremony before Mass led by a Knights of Columbus Honor Guard. Perhaps as many as 800 people attended the Saturday evening Mass. Fr. Richard Carr who offered the Mass and preached about how we can learn true humility from Our Lady.
